Norliza
Mohd Noor was a Professor in Razak Faculty of Technology and
Informatics, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Kuala Lumpur Campus.
Currently, she is freelancing as an AI Consultant. She has taught
courses Intelligent Data Analysis and Intelligent System for the MSc
Systems Engineering program. Her research areas were in machine
learning, deep learning for medical and industrial applications.
She has obtained 3 patents registered in Malaysia and has another 1 has
been filed. She is a senior member of IEEE. She was the IEEE Malaysia
Section Chair for 2013-2014. She was appointed in various committee at
R10 and MGA level among others, IEEE R10 Individual Benefits &
Services Coordinator 2015-2016, IEEE MGA GUOS committee 2015-2016, IEEE
EAB-SERC 2017, MBPAC 2017, and IEEE EAB-CPC 2019-2020. She was a member
of the IEEE MGA Training Committee (2022-23), IEEE EAB CEC and IEEE HAC
Project Monitoring Committee. She is also the chair for IEEE EAB CEC
Credentialing Program Committee 2024-2025. She is also a subcommittee
member of WIE Returnship Committee chaired by Ramalatha Marimuthu
(2025).
IBRAHIM BIN SHAPIAI Vice Chair

Currently,
Ibrahim Shapiai is actively involved in research concerning
brain-computer interface (BCI) applications with a focus on deep
learning. Ibrahim Shapiai holds certification from the Nvidia Deep
Learning Institute (DLI) and currently serves as an Associate Professor
at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
Since 2017, he has conducted numerous deep learning training sessions
in Kuala Lumpur. Notably, he is leading the project to establish the
Nvidia AI Centre at MJIIT, UTMKL, utilizing DGX Station as the computing
platform for AI and deep learning modeling and deployment. He earned
his MEng from the University of York, UK, in 2007, and completed his PhD
in machine learning at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2013. His
contributions to the field have led to his appointment as a member of
the Special Interest Group on Machine Learning for the Academy of
Sciences Malaysia. During July to August 2015, he engaged in
collaborative research as a visiting researcher at the Department of
System Design Engineering, Keio University, Japan, working alongside
Associate Prof. Yasue Mitsukura. Additionally, he conducted
collaborative research as a visiting researcher at the Faculty of
Design, Kyushu University, Japan, in March 2017, working with Associate
Prof. Gerard Remijn.

Nurul
Aini Bani is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Artificial
Intelligence, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur. She holds an
M.Eng degree from the University of Southampton, UK, and a PhD degree
from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
Her research covers polymeric insulation materials, high voltage
cables, renewable energy, rural technology, and rehabilitation
engineering. Aini is dedicated to making a positive impact through her
innovative research and community outreach. Her work includes developing
low-cost renewable energy systems for rural areas and an IoT system for
monitoring post-stroke patients. She is an advocate for STEM education
and uses technology to uplift disadvantaged communities.
NELIDYA MD YUSOFF Treasurer

Nelidya
Md. Yusoff is a Senior Lecturer at Razak Faculty of Technology and
Informatics, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, with a
specialization in Photonics and Fiber Optics System. She graduated from
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
majoring in Telecommunications.
After graduated, she joined UTM as a tutor and pursued her Master’s
degree in Digital Communication Systems at Loughborough University,
United Kingdom. Her research areas are optical communication systems,
fiber lasers and amplifiers and optical sensors. She has been actively
involved with IEEE as a Senior Member since 2013, where she is also the
executive committee for IEEE Photonics Society (Malaysia Chapter) and
IEEE Measurement and Instrumentation (Malaysia Chapter).

Teknologi Malaysia. She completed her tertiary education in France,
earning a Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrotechnique &
Automatic from Université de Montpellier II. She was awarded her PhD
from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, specializing in Software Effort
Estimation.
She has been involved in developing practical, data-driven AI models to
address key challenges in software project management and predictive
analytics. Driven by a commitment to ethically grounded, equitable
healthcare innovation, her work bridges rigorous algorithmic design with
scalable, trusted software systems for real-world impact. She is also
an active member of professional bodies like IEEE, MBOT and Persatuan
Siswazah Wanita Malaysia (PSWM).
Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology(MJIIT) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur
Since
October 2015, Fitri Yakub has been serving as a senior lecturer at the
Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, where his research
focuses on intelligent control, motion control, and machine learning
applied across various systems.
He earned his DipEng. and BEng. Degrees in Mechatronics Engineering and
Electronics Engineering from UTM in 2001 and 2006, respectively.
Continuing his education, he obtained an MSc in Mechatronics Engineering
from UIAM in 2011. His academic journey culminated in the completion of
his doctorate in Automatic Control from Tokyo Metropolitan University
in 2015. Throughout his academic career, he took on roles as a Visiting
Lecturer at Telkom University in May 2019 and as a Visiting Researcher
at Chitkara University in October 2022. Fitri Yakub is a senior member
of IEEE and a chartered engineer accredited by IET, and he is also a
member of SAE.

Hafiza
Abas is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence,
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. She holds a Ph.D. in
Information Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), an M.Sc.
in Information Technology from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and a
B.IT (Hons) in Information Technology from Universiti Utara Malaysia
(UUM).
Her research interests include blockchain, educational technology
(augmented reality, applications, multimedia), and learning
disabilities, particularly dyslexia, remedial education, and autism. She
is a certified software tester with a CP-MAT (Certified Professional –
Master Agile Testing) certification and an HRD Corp Certified and
Accredited Trainer.
MUHAMMAD THAQIF IMAN Student Representative

Thaqif Iman holds a degree in Electronic Systems and is currently
pursuing a Master of Philosophy, focusing on thermal gradient analysis
under a TNBR-funded research project.
He is also involved in AI automation projects, including OCR and AI
chatbots. Additionally, he conducts workshops and training sessions for
CAIRO UTM Kuala Lumpur, specializing in AI and embedded systems.
